How Digital Is Better

Digital and print are very different, but both are very important and helpful for various reasons. Dan Blank explains this in “Why Digital Is Better Than Print” They both can help you find information that people need for a research or some kind of work. Some people find things on the internet or on print interesting. Both digital and print have a lot in common when it comes to be being helpful. Digital is better.

Digital is not only very helpful, but it is also less time consuming. “But my iPhone is small and silent – a stealthy way to consume media” (Blank) is saying that digital is just easy to use anywhere. Almost everyone wants to get their work done quicker. In digital people can get a lot of information from various sources in only a little amount of time. Digital is only getting better and more helpful to the public.

Digital is also better due to the time it lasts and it takes less time to share what is going on. “Digital certainly consumes energy, but the inherent waste is not as evident, as millions of copies of a single piece of content can be replicated and spread across the world in moments” (Blank) supports this because Blank is saying that everyone around the world could know what is going on in a matter of seconds. People want to be up to date with the news and sports and print isn’t the way for that. With print people need to wait to find out what has happened in the world and they still do not find out everything out. With digital everyone can find out everything and not have to wait a day or two for it.

With digital you have more mobility it is not as annoying as print. “You easily bump into the person next to you with it; you find your hands are blackened with ink, and that you could annoy the person next to you with the constant shuffling sound of the pages” (Blank) shows how print isn’t as good as digital. Print also takes up more space that digital and gets on the way sometimes. People cannot put print in their pocket and keep it there for a while.  Everyone can take digital anywhere they want and not have to read it right at the moment.

Almost everyone has had to search for something whether it was on print or digital. Currently people mainly use digital. Similar information can be found on both digital and print, but digital goes right to the point, unlike print which people have to look into to find what they are looking for. No matter which one you use you will find out about the same things, it’s just the time it takes is different. Digital is much more helpful and it takes less time to find what people are looking for.

Like I you agree with digital being the overall better source of academic help. You make an interesting point about digital being more helpful. You explain it well by saying, “Almost everyone wants to get their work done quicker”. You are explaining how people are trying to find a way to spend less time on one project and jump to the next. We college students know what it is like to have projects pile up. We have to jump from one thing to the next. Finding out information from the web is a lot quicker than finding a textbook or even a professor that can help us out.
All of us college students are all very of procrastinating. So when we can spend less time gathering the information and getting our work done we will take the quicker option. People who had to rely on print were pretty much stuck finding their resources to create the work. They had to spend more time sifting through books just to find the exact thing that they need. Now that digital has taken over all we need to do is whip out our phones and do a quick good search. Granted we still sift through a lot of unnecessary websites, but we find what we are looking for faster than the college students of the past. I’m not saying the digital makes us lazy, or gives in to procrastinating, but it does help those who are short on time get everything they need done on time. Even those who are great with time management would rather spend less time working on their projects and move on from it. Digital has made us all more efficient.
